“The world’s most comfortable chair”
This is a G Plan original 6250 swivel armchair, now known simply as the Sixty Two, a design classic. Also known as the ‘Blofeld’ chair as a reference to the James Bond villain who famously stroked his cat whilst dispensing his evil plans. The chair was brought back into G Plan’s production in 2012 as part of their Vintage range, although there have possibly been some minor design changes perhaps due to changing manufacturing practices. They are all still made in the UK, which we like very much.
The deep buttoning is not just an aesthetically pleasing detail but an important feature that creates the comfortable curved shape that makes this design memorable. Much of the original fillings were in good condition, with just the addition of some polyester wadding and a new reflex seat cushion to help give everything renewed life.
