Sharon envisioned a very particular shape for this statement headboard, providing a sketch to communicate the correct proportions, and then a simple grid technique was used to scale it up to full size.
The existing rectangular headboard was adapted to create this larger scalloped version. Cutting a brand-new board was discussed, but in the end, recycling what was already there made the most sense.
Creating a radius to the padding helps soften such a large heavy piece and the addition of a pipe defines the striking shape. A matching valance that hides the divan bed-base, completes the traditional, classic look.
